HAPPY NEW YEAR - Year 12 Media - Pre-production 03/01/12

Today you are going to get into the nitty gritty of your pre-production work. Using the handouts and hyperlinks given your group must complete a first draft of both your storyboard and your script for your short film.

Important things to remember - narrative structure (use your notes from before Crimbo), timings (think about how ling each scene and shot is and how many minutes you have to fill), roles (every member of the group should be contributing to the work positively and constructively), details (the more details you can include now, in the right places, the easier it will be later.

For the storyboarders - make sure your drawings match the type of shot you want and include as much information about camera movement, transitions, shot types, dialogue, sound and lighting.

For the script writers - make sure you think about conversation patterns and realistic dialogue as well as information such as where and when your scene is and the characters movement, facial expressions and use of props.

End of the day - we'll be going back to our production blogs and you will be updating it with the following info;
- what your group did today - DETAILS are needed here. Explain your reasons for decisions etc.
- What you did to contribute to this - again DETAILS are paramount. Explain your reasons for decisions etc.
- A mini evaluation of your project so far - using SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats)
- A mini evaluation of your contribution so far - would the group be successful with or without you - what have you brought to things so far that is unique?
